Fiona's Firsts

It has been a while since I've written on here. Schoolwork heated up at the war college and I got to pull a few all nighters. Since the last time I wrote Fiona has gone through a few firsts. She learned how to Army Crawl, then crawl on all fours and then stand up by herself. Before we know it she will be running around the house chasing the cats. Her next first will be her First Birthday. In celebration of that we had some family portraits made at Sears. One is posted here.

Fiona's First Hockey Game

Fiona went to her first ice hockey game on Sunday the 29th of March. It was her first sporting event as well. She seemed to enjoy it. She was very good and very calm during it all. It also provided Mayumi a precious few hours to herself.

After a long hiatus....

Fiona just had her nine month birthday and I realized that I have not updated her baby blog. We are now updating more faithfully on Facebook. Since the last post we have moved from Washington state to Newport, RI. David is now attending the Naval War College. Fiona can turnover by herself. She is trying to crawl but can only move around using her arms. Enjoy the pictures.

The 5th month

Hello all. Fiona has been doing very well the last few weeks. She is really vocalizing all of the time. Hopefully she will be saying "Da, Da" or "Ma, Ma" soon. She has been a very good sleeper and sleeping through the night.

David's Home - Finally!

I am back from 98 days at sea. That was a long time. Fiona has changed so much in my time away. I am going to upload as many pictures as I can. Please enjoy.

She's getting bigger

Fiona has been growing steadily. She lost some weight initially but she has topped 7 pounds as of her last check up. She is eating well but really, really likes to be held. It's been hard for Mayumi to get anything done around the house while David is at work. We've just received the baby sling from Cheryl and Mike Cohen which has really helped. In fact, I'm wearing Fiona now while I type this. Here are some more pictures of our little one.

Busy Week

It has been a long and exciting first week. Fiona was in the hospital for five days after her birthday. She had high Bilirubin levels which gave her skin a yellow tinge and she had a fever on Saturday that the doctors thought might have been caused by an infection. To treat this jaundice she was placed on a light bed for 24 hours. It was like a baby sun tanning booth. She got to wear these cool goggles and everything. To treat the possible infection she was given an IV in her arm for antibiotics. Her Bilirubin levels went down and the cultures were negative. We were able bring her home on Monday.
